Notes:

  • This album was first released with front cover flaps folded around the edges to be glued in place on the back cover, probably in 1954. The release shown here is from 1955. It has the second cover construction (tip-on) but the text “All Philips records are high fidelity records!” is missing from the back cover. This text was introduced in 1956.

  • Delpher.nl shows a review which mentions the release of this album for May 1955 (click here to see it, from “De Heerenveensche Courier”, May 13, 1955). I think it’s the second issue of this album, as shown here. I guess the newspaper missed the first release from a year earlier.

  • Originally this album was released on US Columbia AL 45 in 1953. It was recorded in the same year, on May 11, at Columbia’s 30th Street Studio in New York City.
