Note:

This LP, first released as “The Twenty-Fifth Day Of December” on US Riverside LP 3513 (mono) and 93513 (stereo), was issued as just “Spirituals” on the German Philips (Minigroove) label, with no group name given at first glance. The back cover shows the group name in small font, at the left bottom – an odd release and I guess the Staples weren’t too happy with this (if they knew).
