Notes:
- This compilation album was reviewed in “Nieuwe Haarlemsche Courant, Jan. 21, 1956. Click here to see this review. Since it’s very early in the year, the actual release may be late 1955 as well.
- There are at least two variations on the Dutch version; one as shown here and one with the text “All Philips records are high fidelity records!” at the bottom right of the back cover. That one also shows the name of the photographer (Cas Oorthuis) and the catalog number on the front cover is printed in a reddish rectangle (same transparent colour as the strip on the left, showing the names of the artists on this compilation).
- If it was indeed released late 1955, I wonder if there’s a version without the text “All Philips records are high fidelity records!”, as I assume this text was introduced in 1956.
- This album was released by Epic in the US as well, though I can’t find very specific information. The Epic album was also released in Japan at an early date. It can be seen on Discogs.
