Images were added for Philips BBE 12353, a jazz EP by Dave Brubeck. Click on the image below to see large images and more details.

Added today are cover scans of a 1951 company sleeve, providing information about the new (Minigroove) 78rpm format for record dealers (more specific: Decca dealers). The sleeve I have, was used for Philips P 01003 S, but it was used for other early 78rpm titles as well. Click on the image below to go to the page of Philips P 01003 S, which shows all sides of this gatefold sleeve and provides more information.
I’ve listed two new 78rpm records in my regular 78rpm listing and included images as well: Philips P 17414 H (Tony Vos) and Philips B 21476 H (Neil Hefti). Click on the images below to see large images. The 78rpm page can be reached from the “Minigroove”-page or by clicking here.
Earlier, I paid some attention to Philips albums from Chile (see this post) and now another South American country is in the spotlight: Colombia. I recently acquired four Philips Minigroove albums from that country, all missing the cover, but interesting nevertheless and I got the strong impression there’s an almost unknown world out there to discover. Albums from South America, especially from the 1950’s and early 1960’s, are seldom seen and only a few have been listed on Discogs. Many titles must have been released there though, concerning both international and local artists, and I hope to find more of them. If you can help, be sure to contact me.
Here’s what I found and you can click on the images to see larger images (both labels) and more details.
I decided to add a page with my 78 rpm issues. Though not featuring the Minigroove logo (or better: the minigroove technique), these records are from circa the same period of time (1950-58) and I found it suitable to include them on this website.
This page is linked from the “Minigroove” page and can also be visited by clicking here.
A bit off-topic, but too curious to leave unmentioned, since I found this acetate disc in a thrift store lately. The only connection is the word “minigr.” (“minigroove”), mentioned on the labels and ‘stolen’ from Philips, as I assume Philips came up with this word, as a variation on “Microgroove”, used by other record companies. It may appear that there was little activity on the website, which in a way is true, but I’ve been very busy with buying and cleaning Philips Minigroove records. Several have been listed in the meantime, others still have to. I hope to work more on the website in the upcoming weeks and will add images and information.
