– Philips B 07725 R
Images were added for the Australian version of Philips B 07725 R, a 10 inch album by Joe Sullivan doing Fats Waller compositions. Joe Sullivan plays piano and is accompanied by Bob Casey or Walter Page on bass and George Wettling on drums. The liner notes say about Joe Sullivan: “One of the first white pianists ever to play in the tradition of the early Negro pioneers of the keyboard.” Fats Waller was a good friend of Sullivan according to the same liner notes. – Philips P 10005 R
Today I added images for the first version of Philips P 10005 R, a 10 inch album by the Kilima Hawaiians and I updated the information on the page for this album which was already there. Earlier I assumed the existence of an earlier version with unboxed speed designations on the labels, and this appeared to be correct, as is now shown. – Philips Test Record
Added today were images of two variations of the same test record (“test record for radio gramophones”), Surprisingly it did not feature the Minigroove logo but had a beautiful lay-out of its own. Another surprise is that this album came in two variations; A4 was replaced by another song on the second test record, which also had a regular release as Philips P 10000 R.
